Technically speaking the Astra OPC is a three-door hatchback, but Opel are always going to call it a coupe. It features all the trick suspension developed for the Insignia OPC, as well as a powerful 2.0-liter 280 horsepower engine.
It’s biggest problems are the fact that it’s not a global car, like the Ford Focus ST, and it’s not cheap, like the Megane RS. But what about the fact that the new hot Focus is also offered as a wagon style for an affordable price which makes it quite attractive.
So what if, in order to make the overpriced Astra OPC more appealing, Opel added a bit of practicality. Certainly, there is a precedent, as the Insignia OPC is also offered as a Tourer, which is proving quite popular.
