Usually, when a GM car makes its way to the Australia, it ends up wearing the Holden badge, but not so with one sporty Astra model, which according to CarAdvice has been confined by Opel dealers there. We are talking about the three-door GTC hatchback coupe, that features a revised suspension and chassis.
At the upcoming 2012 Geneva Motor Show, which opens its doors to the public next month, Opel will also show the 280 horsepower OPC hothatch, featuring a limited slip differential that channel the 2.0-luter turbo’s grunt to the front wheels.
Opel’s Australia range currently includes only the five-door hatch and wagon versions, and the GTC is now a certainty, scheduled to arrive in the third quarter of 2012. The European range comes with a whole bunch of engines, both diesel and petrol, but the Australian model will likely focus on the 1.4L and 1.6L turbos.
