Only Drop-Top 2015 Ford Mustang 50th Anniversary Will Be Raffled for Charity

The Blue Oval announced that it will build a single convertible unit of the 2015 Mustang 50th Anniversary Edition. The ragtop pony will be raffled during the 2014 Woodward Dream Cruise in August, with all proceeds going to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Just like the recently unveiled 50th Anniversary Limited Edition fastback, the convertible car features an assortment of distinctive aesthetic features such as the Wimbledon White exterior color, "GT 50 Years" rear decklid badge, 19-inch Y-spoke wheels inspired by the chrome steel wheels of the first generation Mustang and many other goodies.

This car comes with a serialized plaque on the instrument panel reading 'Serial No. 0001 of 0001", which is also engraved with the signature of Ford Motor Company executive chairman Bill Ford. The unique special edition vehicle will be among the first production 2015 Mustang GT convertibles built this fall. Just like any other GT model, power is sourced by a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 powerplant churning out 420 all-American horsepower and 390 lb-ft (528) of torque.

Ford says that another unique feature of this one-of-a-kind Mustang is represented by a special performance pack that includes a limited-slip diff, Brembo six-piston front brake calipers and super sticky 19-inch Pirelli P-Zero summer tires.

“We’re thrilled to be able to work with and help The National MS Society again,” said Raj Nair, Ford group vice president and head of global product development. "As pleased as we are to be able to help financially with the Society’s No Opportunity Wasted research project, we also feel it’s important to help raise greater awareness of this terrific program. That we’re creating one – and only one – Mustang GT 50 Years convertible for the Society shows how much we respect and support their efforts.”

If you want a chance at winning this unique and highly collectible 'Stang, we remind you that a limited number of raffle tickets are available for purchase at $20 a pop. Ticket requests can be reserved online at www.ford4ms.com or by phone at 800.243.5767.
