Yesterday, I told you that the reigning Dakar champion, Stephane Peterhansel managed to take the lead in the overall rankings with his MINI ALL4 Racing. At the moment the podium is filled with MINI ALL4 Racing models.
Joan “Nani” Roma and Krzystof Holowczyc managed to claim a one-two finish on the third competitive day, in their Yellow and Red MINI ALL4 Racing cars.
This event, took the drivers over a 301 km stretch between San Rafael and San Juan (both in Argentina) crossing the Argentinean Andes where Nasser Al-Attiyah from Qatar finished 7th, therefore claiming the third spot in the overall standings.
With the new results, Roma climbed on the number one spot in the rankings, with Orlando Terranove on second and Al-Attiyah on third place.“It was a good day for us, and leading the Dakar Rally definitely feels great. We know that the race for the 2014 Dakar title is still a long one. But today gives us an extra motivation,” said Roma.
The fourth day will take the drivers through rivers, ravines and unforgiving conditions featuring wide spaces where overtaking is relatively easy to do.
