While classic Impalas aren’t that hard to find these days, it’s quite a challenge to come across an all-original model that hasn’t been molested in any way.
These are rare gems that collectors drool over, especially because they retain the old-school muscle that turned the Impala nameplate into what it is today.

The 1970 model that we have here certainly ticks all the boxes, as it comes not only with everything original, but also with the full documentation, a working engine, and little to be fixed inside and outside.

First and foremost, the basics.

This is a 1970 Chevrolet Impala that was purchased from Lewis Chevrolet in Sweetwater, Tennessee, and it comes with a 400ci (6.6-liter) V8 engine paired with an automatic transmission. Both are working fine, and in theory, the Impala is ready to become your daily driver if that’s what you’re interested in.

The one-owner Impala still sports the original paint, and judging from the photos provided by Big O Street Rods, the garage selling the car, it’s in pretty decent condition, even after all these years. There are spots that need to be fixed, that’s true, but let’s not forget this is an all-original car that hasn’t been touched in all these years.

The interior looks pretty neat too, but worth knowing is the front seat has already been recovered, and the sellers claim only original materials have been used. Everything else inside is original, including the AM radio that’s quite a rare find on classic Impalas.

As for the mileage, the odometer indicates 110,374 miles (177,629 kilometers), and it’s believed this is the accurate reading.

At the end of the day, this is a well-preserved piece of automotive history, and there’s no doubt it could become quite a looker with the right fixes here and there. Being 99% original makes it a rare find, so hopefully, whoever buys it gives the car the thorough restoration job it deserves.
