One-Off Rolls-Royce Ghost Model Built for Together for Short Lives Charity

Rolls-Royce apparently wants to show responsibility and support for charity and built a bespoke, one-off Ghost for the Together for Short Lives children’s palliative care charity. The car is part of a bigger plan from the Goodwood-based company that wants to do more for those less fortunate out there.

The Together for Short Lives charity offers palliative care services for children that are seriously ill and their families. They are hoping to achieve the best support for more than 49,000 British kids with life-limiting conditions.

Trying to raise awareness about their cause, they hold an annual Midsummer Ball in central London and that’s where Rolls-Royce unveiled its plans for a year-long initiative to support the organization.

In this regard, they donated a Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II done in the colors of the organization, a bright purple that will definitely stand out. The car will be used in a non-stop ‘Rolls Rally’, visiting all four corners of the UK. Simon Cowell handed over the keys to Barbara Gelb OBE, the CEO of Together for Short Lives.

Simon is also the one who hosted this year’s Ball and helped raise no less than £400,000, money that will surely come in handy.

“We are overwhelmed by the generosity of Simon Cowell, and the Midsummer Ball’s supporters, guests and stars who have made this such a memorable occasion – the staggering sum of £400,000 will make a lasting difference to our work with the UK’s 49,000 children with life-limiting conditions and their families,” said Barbra when taking possession of the car.

The Together for Short Lives Midsummer Ball was also hosted by stars Marvin and Rochelle Humes, who introduced acts from musician Katie Melua, broadcast entertainer Stephen Mulhern, Britain’s Got Talent finalists Jack Pack, and Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra.

Acts were followed by a DJ set from the legendary Grammy award-winning producer William Orbit, while the event also included a charity auction, carried out by Charlie Thomas, of world-renowned auctioneers Bonhams, and Stephen Mulhern, raising additional funds to support the charity.
