One-Off New York Yankees Mustang GT Up for Auction

A one-off 2010 Ford Mustang GT known as the "New York Yankees Mustang," will be subject to an online auction held by the United Country Absolute Auction & Realty (www.aarbids.com) and which will end on December 15, 2009.

"This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase a one-of-a-kind commemorative collector car," said Rob Doyle, auctioneer, in a statement for the press. "This New York Yankees 2010 Ford Mustang GT is the only one that was offered as a Tri-State Sweepstakes prize commemorating the opening of the brand new Yankees stadium."

According to Doyle, the signature Yankees pinstripe paint job and logo was applied before the Yankees won the 2009 World Series. "The World Series win for the Yankees this year only adds to the provenance of this unique collector car. Plus, the dashboard is signed by the 2009 SI Sportsman of the Year, Derek Jeter" he said.

The one-off car reportedly has less than 1,000 miles on the odometer and it is fitted with a 4.6L V-8 engine, an automatic transmission, interior blue lighting throughout, 19-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, ambient interior lighting, convertible top, leather interior, Shaker 500 AM/FM/CD/MP3 stereo system, anti-lock brakes with traction control, Ford cold air induction system, side airbags and power seats.

"This is a fantastic opportunity," Doyle added. "The original winner of the vehicle, a lifetime Yankees fan, has commissioned us to auction the car so that he can put the proceeds towards the education of his children. This is the investment opportunity of a lifetime for sports memorabilia collectors and Yankees fans alike. There is no duplicate to this car. There is only one."
