One Off Lexus LS 600h L for Prince Albert II of Monaco's Wedding

It's the year of the high profile royal weddings, that's for sure and everybody wants a piece of the action, in the hope that linking their image to the blue-blooded may do wonders for the way in which the public perceives their products.

For automobile manufacturers, high-profile weddings are just what the doctor prescribed. Unfortunately for most automakers, presumably the happiest day in the lives of Prince William and Kate Middleton was adorned not with the latest in the auto world, but rather with the traditional means of locomotion the British royalties have accustomed us with.

Luckily, a few clicks away, in Monaco, Prince Albert II is getting ready to tie the knot with his better half, Charlene Wittstock. And Albert is far less conservatory than his British counterpart. For his official ride, the Prince chose a Lexus vehicle, one that has been specially modified to be a part of the special event.

Now, Lexus didn't go, just yet, into all the details that make the royal car unique. Suffice to say, the car maker took an LS 600h L and modified it that it could better accommodate the royal behinds. On Saturday, July 2, the world will see what Lexus describes as being “the most sophisticated powertrain technology with uniquely environmentally-friendly credentials.”

Of course, we'll disregard the car maker's statement that the car has been created to “minimize the environmental impact of the wedding celebrations.” It is, of course, an advertising tool, one which will be revealed during the wedding in the Principality.
