One-Off Ferrari 458 MM Speciale Was Built for a Mysterious British Buyer

One month. That's how long it took Ferrari to make its latest one-off Horse official. After we showed you the first images of the custom creature late last month, Maranello has now spilled the beans on the 458 MM Speciale.

While we expected the one-off to use the 488 GTB as a starting point, this is the kind of error we're happy to admit - since the 458 Speciale is the last naturally aspirated V8 coming from the Prancing Horse, we're more than thrilled to see it serving as a donor car for this... special project.

This one-off story kicked off with the supercar being spied doing its thing of Ferrari's Fiorano test track, which was also the location chose by the automaker for the official photos you can find below.

And there's one more detail we need to correct: the Maranello aficionado who asked Ferrari Styling Center for this rolling sculpture doesn't come from Asia. Instead, we're talking about a British customer who has decided to let our imagination run wild by remaining anonymous.

The eye-catching adventure starts with blacked-out A-pillars, which together with the also-black B-pillars accentuate the lowered roofline of the supercar.

As for the custom front and rear aprons, these are sculpted in carbon composites. As we mentioned back in April, our favorite bespoke bit has to be the spoiler, which reminds us of the Ferrari 288 GTO.

The whole package is dressed in a shade of white called Bianco Italia, with the colors of the Italian flag being used as thin longitudinal stripes.

When it comes to the cabin, the custom touches are limited to white contrasting sticking and a special audio system that compensates for the average experience the standard car offered in this department.

Ferrari didn't mention anything about the tech side of the vehicle. However, with the 4,497cc V8 in the middle of the car delivering 605 PS, a naturally aspirated specific power world record, there's no need for more.

Aside from the owner's identity, there's one more question that remains unanswered: Given the sky-high collectible aura of such a piece, will the 458 MM Speciale be treated as a garage queen or will it spend time on the track as it should?
