The Bugatti Veyron may be a car focused mainly on speed, but it’s also the shiniest we’ve ever seen in its new-found porcelain clothes. Just a week ago, we were saddened by the news that the last of these amazing hypercars has just been sold to a customer in Europe.

However, one of the Veyron’s swan-songs is so breathtaking that it might make even the Stig cry. Introducing the world’s first car to wear fine porcelain on its body as well as in its cabin, the one-off Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport 'L'Or Blanc'. The idea of adding such a heavy material to a performance car seems counterintuitive, but when it comes to exclusivity, the sky is the limit.

Created in partnership with Konigliche Porzellan-Manufaktur (KPM), the 'L'Or Blanc' was unveiled on Thursday at the famed porcelain manufacturer’s workshop in Berlin, German.

“At first, it seems to be an unusual idea to use porcelain in a car, especially in the world’s fastest convertible,” comments Dr. Stefan Brungs, Director of Sales and Marketing at Bugatti Automobiles. “But this is what Bugatti stands for: the realization of exceptional ideas whilst striving for the utmost in quality and aesthetics. This allows us to continue Ettore Bugatti’s heritage, who himself loved to experiment with new materials.”

The most impressive part of the car is not the fact that they managed to fit porcelain to the center wheel badges, fuel filler cap and the big badge on the back, but that amazing paint job. This is shiniest we’ve ever seen - so shiny in fact that light just doesn’t know what to and shimmies all over the place, creating the impression the car is either blue, white or silver.

The interior is a combination of mostly white and a bit of blue on the dash and steering wheel. KPM also designed a number of porcelain parts for the center console, a rear panel between the seats that now sports a huge logo and a removable porcelain dish with edges finished in diamond polishing.
