Just like the dark superhero has been played by numerous actors throughout the years, the so-called Batmobile has been based on a fair share of cars as well.

The 1960s Batman TV show is regarded as being the first filmed production to feature a Batmobile, with the crime-fighting vehicle built by legendary car customizer George Barris.

Based on the equally stunning Lincoln Futura concept car, the original Batmobile inspired an entire generation of children who grew up liking supercars and superheroes, and the actual car from the series is now worth millions.

Fans of the original Batmobile who don’t have millions at their disposal are left searching for the coolest replicas available at any given moment, and so it happens that the best-looking replica currently up for sale can be had for a not exactly cheap $179,950.

Posted on eBay, the listing states that the car is currently in the possession of a classic car dealership named Ellingson's Motorcars, based in Minneapolis.

Batmobile Replica, Incredible workmanship. All accessories are included. This is one of the finest we have ever seen! Afterburner works great, starts and drives as it should. This incredible machine is a must for anyone's collection. If you are a Batman fan you will absolutely love this car. Be the hit at any car show, parade or party. Start your crime fighting career in style,” says the listing, and judging by the photos, we couldn’t agree more.

Powered by a massive 460-ci (7.5-liter) Ford V8 with just 501 miles (806 km) on the clock, the Batmobile replica is drivable with the use a three-speed automatic, meaning it leaves your right hand free to use any of the gizmos and gadgets featured inside the cockpit, including a state-of-the-art navigation system.
