Each Ghost and Phantom produced by Rolls Royce in Goodwood will feature a special Spirit of Ecstasy that will be engraved with the inscription "Spirit of Ecstasy Centenary – 2011". The inscription will appear at the base of the mascot and will be made in a special font called ITC Willow.
But that's not all. Rolls Royce intends to host several special events throughout the year in order to celebrate this important moment. On February 6, the date when the Spirit of Ecstasy design created by Charles Skyes was first registered, the parent manufacturer will organize a special drive in central London during which one hundred Rolls Royces will be driven on the city's roads.
“The Spirit of Ecstasy is perhaps the most famous automotive icon, gracefully adorning the prow of Rolls-Royce models past and present,” said Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.
“She was an inspiration for the founding fathers of our great company, as well as for owners and enthusiasts through the generations. Today her image continues to inspire and drive those of us who are fortunate enough to work for this unique brand, making the world’s most exclusive and desirable cars.”
