One Halloween Party Will Have the Perfect Hearse Prop Decoration Coffin

You can barbecue your way through today with that hearse grilling machine, burn rubber with a 1,000-horsepower Chevrolet Caprice on the track, or open a US-based bicycle hearse service. But no All Saints’ Eve will be complete if you don’t at least try to stop time for a second and go back to the days when the funeral vehicle used to be a creepy carriage, just like this contraption.

Believe it or not, there is more than one hearse lovers club out there who find the most disturbing ways to dedicate one day per year to remember the dead. Some turn regular cars into funeral vehicles, others somehow find there’s a connection between death and food and make barbecues on improvised grills made of coffins. We’ve seen all these throughout the years, but none of them truly impressed us like this thing.

Will it move? Only if you have a large pick-up truck or if you disassembled it and put in the trunk. Approximately 7 feet tall by 9 feet long and 4 feet wide, it’s a newly build Halloween display hearse. It does not roll, as it’s a static prop, but it’s the closest thing to what tonight should be about.

We stumbled upon it on Craigslist a couple of days ago when its creator was asking $750 for it, and we figured we may as well mention it. Again, it’s not a customized hearse nor is some kind of self-driving thing, but we liked it for its simplicity.

If we were throwing a party with this thing planted in the front yard, here’s what we would do. First, we’d hide a stereo inside. Then, we’d find some of the spookiest sounds someone can think of, put them on a USB and wait for the right moment. Shortly after midnight, we’d make bets on how long can somebody stay inside of the hearse without screaming. And the fellow who spends most inside would be gifted with the surprise: one of the hosts gets out of the coffin that we put inside long before the bet started.
