One Direction Films New “Drag Me Down” Clip at NASA’s HQ – Video

Come on, don't act like you never heard of the famous boy band, you know you did. One Direction is that English-Irish pop-rock group based in London that is supposed to represent the clear proof that if you work hard the sky is the limit. In fact, with the new visuals for Drag Me Down single, it would seem that not even Earth’s atmosphere is stopping these lads.

Most of us probably dream they could visit NASA and check out what astronauts are doing lately, and maybe they even can with a tourist tour at the agency’s Johnson Space Center in Houston. But there’s nothing like what these boys experienced when they got to turn NASA’s headquarters into their personal playground. Let us take one thing at a time, though.

For starters, we said the boy band is here to prove that if you work hard in life you can make your biggest dreams come true and by that we were referring to their beginning. You see, the group signed with Simon Cowell’s record label Syco Records after forming and finishing third in the sevenths series of the British televised singing competition The X Factor in 2010. It didn’t take much after that for the band to be propelled to international success. In little under five years these guys managed to be that big they were granted a music video filmed at NASA’s headquarters.

The video was released on Friday, and it already has over 10.4 million views, which clearly is more than impressive. One Direction may be a band with over 16.5 million subscribers on YouTube, but that doesn’t mean NASA’s HQ didn’t help. In fact, it did make quite a difference, considering everybody is welcomed to the Agency’s top notch technologies, such as the Space Exploration Vehicle, Robonaut and the Partial Gravity Simulator and Space Station Mockup Bike.

One Direction had checked out Mars Spacecraft before you did

And wait, the story goes one. One Direction’s members also had the chance to see the Orion spacecraft, which will be the first of its kind that will carry humans to deep space and Mars. As if all these weren’t already mind blowing for any space enthusiast out there, NASA was kind enough to show them around their T-38 jet trainers too. The later are an important part of preparing to be an astronaut.

Now, by the looks of it, we think it’s safe to say NASA’s is taking the celebrity gig to a whole new level, thus promoting the Agency’s research and development projects. After all, exploring deep space doesn’t come cheap, apparently.
