We're not at all sure if being hit by lightning while riding a motorbike is that different from being hit by lightning when walking or so.
Maybe adding the bike in all this unfortunate event could result in an explosion from the ignited fuel tank or so, but it sounds like trying to worsen something that's already extremely bad.
However, this video show that jumping a bike high on a motocross track near the trees in the middle of a storm is not exactly the best idea. Hopefully no rider has to be struck by a 1 million volts electric discharge to make the race organizers call it a day and postpone everything until the sky clears...
We can't tell how close this call was, but when it comes to lightning we do know one thing: it's too damn close even if it's 100 meters away!
