We have a piece of news that has an odd smell to it: Mercedes Benz has just launched a perfume for men under its own name at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes.
The fragrance has been composed by renowned perfumer Olivier Cresp (Firmenich), who’s work includes concocting Light Blue for Dolce & Gabbana and Noa for Cacharel. We have an odd feeling he didn’t make it smell like burning rubber and exhaust fumes.

We wouldn’t know the first thing about such things, so here’s what the automaker turned perfumer has to say: “Innovative and unique, it is the first men’s fragrance from Mercedes-Benz and it combines woody notes with floral freshness. The cool top note features Calabrian bergamot, lemon essence and Italian mandarin. The middle note is a warm, spicy mix of bourbon pepper, nutmeg, violet and galbanum resin. The base note provides a spicy finish to the perfume and includes American cedar wood, vetyver grass and patchouli.”

We don’t know about you, but we’re worried about Mercedes making something that’s got “floral freshness.”
