Olympic Torch Delayed by Motorcycle Crash in Essex, UK

Not to sound overly-superstitious, but this is a definite bad omen for the upcoming London Olympic Games. As the torch was paraded around the country, it at one point passed through Essex, where it stayed for a little longer than intended.
Apparently, its passing-through was delayed due to an accident between two motorcyclists, who crashed into each other from opposite directions (head-on, probably), as the Olympic torch convoy was passing by. Traffic had to be stopped, the two riders taken to hospital and the road cleared of debris, before the torch was on its way again, but it was only in for more trouble later in the day.

Its next destination was the training center for the British canoeing team, where junior team canoeist Zachary Franklin was tasked with carrying the torch while going down the rapids (in the actual canoe). Sadly (and predictably, we say), the splash-back from the water hitting the canoe extinguished the flame and it had to be re-lit - how embarrassing!
