Oldest Running Car Up for Auction

Are you in the market for an used vehicle? How about this De Dion Trycicle? It’s only had four owners, all of which belong to the same family, you’ll never get a ticket for speeding as it comes with a top speed of 38 mph (61 km/h) and you’ll never have to visit the gas station ever again, as we are talkign about a steam-powered creation.
The car comes wilt an immense trophy cabinet: it is the protagonist of the word’ fist car race (you’ll be able to mock Porsche owners), where it averaged 16 mph/ 26 km/h (yes, don’t put it up against a GT3 RS) and it also holds “civilian” medals, such as two awards at thr 1997 Pebble Beach Concours.

You’ll also be able to tease owners of... well, just about every brand on the road, since a total of 20 were made, out of which only six are still alive.

However, all this pride and joy fuel is expected to fetch between $2 and $2.5 million when it goes under the hammer of RM Auctions. You can get to know it better in the adjacent video.

There’s just one more thing you need to know. In case you’re the kind of guy that has his cars detailed once he acquires them, you’ll have to prepare a pretty big cheque. Why? Well, we are talking about a car that’s 127 years old...

So, do you want the 1884 De Dion Bouton Et Trapardoux Dos-A-Dos Steam Runabout?
