Peugeot has shown two updated models during the Buenos Aires Auto Show in Argentina today. Both are facelifts for older models, one for the previous 308 hatchback that stopped being made in 2014, the other for the 408 sedan that's based on it.
The idea behind the facelifts is to change the major design elements so that they mirror the European 308 hatchback.

Starting at the front, we notice that a new grille design is being used, not a gaping mouth like this old 308 had, but a small geometric shape. In its middle are the lion emblem and a mesh designed with horizontal stripes. The fog lights have also been redesigned, mirroring the C-curve of the newer models.

New headlights have also been installed, which have creases at the bottom. Most fans of the Peugeot brand will notice this 308 doesn't have that "nose" at the front, which is an improvement.

The only difference we can see with the 408 is that they used chrome instead of black for some of the trim. But this could just be down to the trim level.

On the engineering side, the suspension of the old 308 has been changed with comfort in mind. Models equipped with an automatic gearbox have an Eco model for greater fuel savings. Inside, the infotainment system now allows for smartphone mirroring. Unfortunately, we don't have any interior photos to prove that.

Both models are destined to hit the Argentinian market soon. However, the all-new Peugeot 308 goes on sale in Brazil in the second half of 2015. At the same time, the Peugeot 408 with the 2016 facelift (pictured above) will also be introduced.
