If we were to pit a BMW E90 M3 against a current BMW F80 M3 as stock cars, the older model wouldn’t stand a chance. We actually showed you how things go down yesterday but failed to mention that there are a thousand factors you have to keep in mind.
Today we’re looking at things from a completely different perspective. Today, we’re offering the E90 a chance to stand up for itself thanks to forced induction. That’s right, this is a drag race between two modified cars that go head to head at Shift S3ctor Airstrip Attack 7.
On the one hand, we have the E90 M3 that was fitted with an ESS Tuning VT2-625 supercharger kit that took it up to around 600 HP. Chip in the fuel mix that has 50/50 octane 91 and octane 100 petrol and the catless Akrapovic exhaust and you get a pretty good idea of what the 4-liter V8 is now capable of.
On the other hand, we have a BMW F80 M3 that received a JB4 tune, a full Akrapovic exhaust and the same kind of fuel mixture as the E90. In these circumstances, the 2015 model has close over 550 HP available at the crank. It’s a little down on power but it’s also lighter than its rival here. What will happen?
