First of all we should say that we here are not that fond of the rounded racing fairings of the 60's and 70's. However, seeing Ruleshaker's "Old Spirit" Honda CB750 smoothed out all the frowning: this build is so close to the naked bike perfection that it almost hurts!
Ruleshaker is a workshop based in Bayonne, Southern France, just before the Spanish border and Iban is the man behind the badge. Taking a look at the Old Spirit leaves no doubts that Iban loves the retro racing bikes; yet he also loves adding his own touch to the machines, and that's how this hot bike was born.
Since Iban took the term “custom” literally, the frame is probably one of the very few original parts left in a state closer to the stock specs. Aluminium parts replaced the stock ones wherever possible, to make the Old Spirit lighter.
The airbox went away, replaced by huge K&N pods and dual 2-in-1 peashooter exhausts, and the large instrument cluster was replaced by a small, single-dial gauge. Finally, after re-working the rear end of the old CB750, Iban added his favorite part, the one designed to separate the Old Spirit from the rest of the CBs out there: the racing front cowl with elongated fairing elements. Seen on Pipeburn.
