How far can you go with an old 3-liter Mercedes diesel engine? The answer is comfortably over 400-hp and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque. Then all you need is an equally old Mercedes body, some big rims with decent tires, stiffened suspension and you’re set.
These guys really love their Mercs and with good reason, as they are among the most powerful diesel cars on the road (if nothing has happened to the cars since the video was posted, back in 2007). No other diesel powered car could keep up with one of these, even modern sporty diesels like the tri-turbo setup that BMW has recently adopted.
There really is no reason not to own a car like this, as they are reliable, quite stylish even by today’s standards and with the power and torque figures that these two Mercs have, you’ll have a lot of fun.
