We could hardly think of a better example to back up some of the basic rules of a day at the track: one's car or bike leaking engine fluids of any kind is a major threat for the safety of all those on the race track!
When out for some fast laps on a top-peed circuit such as the one at Nurburgring, riding or driving a vehicle in top-notch mechanical condition is mandatory. In fact,w e believe a check-up should be done by circuit staff on spot, just to make sure nobody's leaking fluids.
Unfortunately, it looks like this is happening only in official racing events. The outcome of some oil slicks on the asphalt can be extremely dangerous, and we might say these two riders made it pretty well. Considering the high speed and how close the guard rail is in that corner exit, it;s really wonderful to hear both are alright.
Wondering who's paying in case of a tragic crash under such conditions...
