Officine GP Design MV Agusta One Debuts an Integrated iPad

The MV Agusta One is a spectacular creation of Turin-based Officine GP Design and we know something cooler about this bike than its design: it is already in pre-production, meaning you WILL be able to ride such a radical beast in 2015! The “donor” bike is not at all hard to identify, as the MV Agusta Brutale 800 has its unmistakable lines. The end result of Officine GP Design creative effort is a machine designed for solo, exclusivist fun and which raises the bar in the world of classy streetfighters.

Building on the natural noblesse of every MV Agusta, the One project takes things to the next level. It retains the modern air and the classic Italian design cues which are a landmark in motorcycling history. The exposed trellis frame and sculpted seat are as Italian as it gets and this keeps the bike desirable in the hearts of those who love the classic sport styling. However, the rest is anything but traditional…

Blending Apple iPad technology with hand-hammered sheet aluminium

Having these two in the same sentence may sound contradictory to some, but Officine GP Design proves that cutting edge digital technology is not exactly the enemy of classic bike-making skills. The One project is advertised as the first motorcycle in the world arriving with an iPad integrated into the build ex works.

According to Officine GP Design, the whole dash of the Brutale 800 was tossed away and the iPad integrated seamlessly with the bike, both as far as aesthetics and functionality are concerned. With the iPad, the MV Agusta One can also link to the internet and iPhone, but this is only scratching the surface.

The software which integrates the tablet and the bike was made in-house and is so much more than a simple app which displays info. Users can interact with it, change its looks, use geolocation services for common online actions and emergency situations and so much more. Obviously, navigation is part of the deal, alongside essential riding data and the capability to share road-related info with the community (accidents, road hazards and more).

A hand-hammered jewel

Officine GP Design went maniacal on this bike and manually crafted as much parts as possible. The tail section is an amazing tribute to the old-school racing motorcycles, as it is a hand-hammered monocoque structure with two LED tail lights in a vertical array.

The fuel tank was crafted the same way, and an ergal plate was added, with the One logo and the production number. The paint technique is also a Officine GP Design original, as it lets the base brushed aluminium satin texture to shine through. The tail got a chrome trim.

The headlight comprises 12 LED elements grouped together in a custom made billet aluminium casing, while multiple Rizoma hardware parts can be spotted all over the bike, plus sump shields and a MotoGP-spec ProGuard brake guard.

Officine GP Design added a special all-titanium exhaust system with a carbon endcap and Foglizzo leather for the bespoke high-density memory foam saddle. The final touches are the addition of wire spoked wheels for a more solid retro vibe.

If you feel like your Brutale 800 is in need of such a massive and utterly cool revamping, you should contact Officine GP Design and ask for a quote on the MV Agusta One transformation kit. And then, get ready to answer tons of questions each time you stop.

The red swingarm is mesmerizing…
