Official Walkaround of 2021 Ford F-150 Puts the Focus on Smart Productivity

With the arrival of the fourteenth generation, the all-new 2021 F-150 was kind of overshadowed by the introduction of the reinvented 2021 Bronco family. Still, the first deliveries of the best-selling pickup truck are taking back the spotlight and it’s only natural since we’re dealing with the “toughest, most productive F-150 ever,” right?

And the Blue Oval is taking the first days of 2021 by storm to make sure the message gets through to enough fans to ensure a 45th consecutive year of U.S. pickup segment domination. After all, Ford managed to retain the sales crown even with little to no help from the 2021 F-150 as its deliveries only kicked off late last year (that troubled 2020 is easy to blame).

Now the records are being set straight, including in terms of accolades; the fully electric 2021 Mustang Mach-E and the 2021 F-150 were recently announced as the 2021 North American Utility and Truck of the Year, respectively. If we are to believe Ford’s latest ad for the F-150 (a different one from the recent lifestyle campaign featuring D-Nice), it all boils down to being smarter than ever before.

With the Blue Oval having an intimate knowledge of what consumers love about the most popular representative of the F-Series, the company has recently created an official walkaround video for the 2021 F-150.

This being something created by a multinational company with billions of dollars at its disposal, we’re not dealing with the usual vlogger feature; instead, we’re presented with a cinematic display of some of its latest and greatest features.

On this occasion, talking about the series’ towing and payload capabilities is just part of the equation because Ford is now promoting the F-150 as one of the smartest vehicles it has ever created. Chief among them, of course, is the new 3.5-liter PowerBoost Hybrid engine with its integrated Pro Power Onboard feature that makes the pickup truck a true mobile generator.

But that’s not all, because the brand is also pushing forward a host of clever productivity enhancements – from the enhanced trailering systems and right down to the optional Interior Work Surface. The latter is a very interesting feature, available for bench and captain’s chair seating configurations on XL and Limited trims.

The main idea behind it would be to profit from the available cabin space with a few neat tricks, from working on a laptop to enjoying a meal on the run. That's made possible by the fact the shifter folds down at the push of a button and the center console morphs into a large work surface that’s usable for just about anything.
