The official Lexus mobile app for Android devices has received a new update, and while the company hasn’t provided a changelog, it’s believed it comes to resolve some pretty important issues previously reported by users.
With today’s update, the Lexus app reaches version 1.0.39 on Android, and according to the generic changelog published by the carmarker itself, it includes app improvements, performance refinements, and other bug fixes.

Of course, there are no specifics, so it’s up to each Lexus owner to figure out if there’s anything critical in this update.

But on the other hand, this new version lands after app users complained of several problems, including connection problems that were reported in early June.

I downloaded the app vs the old one about a month ago. It worked flawlessly and much faster/smoother than the old version for 1 week. Now every time I attempt to use the app it states that my connection is not private and somebody might be trying to hack my info. I have uninstalled the app and now continue to use the old app,” one user explained in comments posted in the Google Play Store.

Several others have also reported issues with the previous versions of the Lexus app.

The Lexus mobile app is particularly useful for owners, as it allows them to remotely lock and unlock the doors, start and stop the engine, and find the location of the parked vehicle. There are also customized alerts for several triggers, such as guest drivers, while the app can also be used for accessing vehicle maintenance information and car health reports.

It goes without saying that users are recommended to install this new version as soon as possible, especially if they’ve previously experienced problems with the older releases. The app requires at least Android 7, so if your device has already been updated to Android 10, you’re good to go.
