Official: Audi TT RS Coupe Coming to America

The web-surfing automotive enthusiasts have decided: the Audi TT RS will be officially imported in the U.S.

Back in August, Audi launched a special website that included a petition for bringing the TT RS on the American market. The on-line petition managed to gather over 11,500 signatures in just one month, so Audi decided that the mad incarnation of the TT will be allowed to cruize, accelerate, drift (and so on) on U.S. roads.

However, only the coupe incarnation of the vehicle is scheduled to reach America, while the Roadster will remain exclusive to the European market.

Audi is warning American customers that a limited number of cars will be imported, asking them to offer their contact info so that they can receive further information when this becomes available.

The TT RS petition website offers us an interesting piece of information, as it mentions that the TT RS delivers 360 hp. As you know, the European version of the vehicle packs 340 hp, so we can only guess that the vehicle will get an upgrade.

By popular demand from thousands of social media fans like you, the 360-hp-five-cylinder high-performance version of the beloved TT coupe will arrive in the U.S. in mid-2011. But its numbers will be extremely limited. If you are seriously interested in becoming one of the lucky few owners of this performance coupe, click the button bellow to provide Audi with your contact information. Did we mention it goes from a standing start to 62 mph in 4.6 seconds?” the website states.
