We should probably start this news by giving Daimler AG's marketing arm a little piece of advice: going forward, you might want to keep a closer eye on your future models' brochures.
Getting back to the all-new E-Class Coupe, you can now feast your eyes on most of the car thanks to a Belgian website, which leaked 9 pages scanned from an official brochure with the model.
Not that many design details were still hidden, thanks mostly to the excellent work of our spy photographers, but we can now check out the 2018 Mercedes-Benz Coupe from just about every angle.
As you can see, the only major surprise is probably the way that Mercedes-Benz designers have managed to mask the third side window. Just like each and every one of its predecessors, the new E-Class Coupe lacks a B-pillar, and this small but important detail makes it hard for engineers to create a rear window that can go fully down.
Mercedes-Benz got around this predicament by creating a third side window on the previous E-Class Coupe, although the chosen solution wasn't loved by everyone. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore since it will be pretty hard to spot the tiny third window now, especially when the glass is tinted.
That said, the side and the rear are where you can see the biggest design differences compared to the smaller C-Class Coupe and the larger S-Class Coupe. The front is almost identical to that of the E-Class sedan, on the other hand.
The deja vu feeling continues in the interior, although the Concept S-Class Coupe-inspired air vents certainly give the new E-Coupe a distinct flavor.
Engine wise, it looks like the new two-door E-Class will play the same cards as its four-door brother since the all-new straight-sixes will first appear under the hood of the 2018 S-Class before trickling down to other models. The base model in Europe will be the E 200 Coupe, powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 184 hp, while the mid-range will be the E 300 Coupe, powered by the same engine but with an output of 245 hp.
On the diesel front, the E 220d Coupe will be powered by the all-new, 2.0-liter diesel with 195 hp, which had its premiere on the E-Class sedan. Until the E63 come to tear things up (especially tires), the top of the range will be the E 400 4Matic Coupe, powered by a twin-turbo, 3.0-liter V6 with 333 hp. All engines will be fitted with the 9G-Tronic as standard in the beginning, although the E 200 and E 300 Coupe might also get a six speed manul in the future.
