Here on autoevolution, we’re big fans of getting more bang for the buck and performance underdogs. That twin-turbo V6 powered Golf R we showed you at the beginning of the week is a good example. However, you probably don’t want to drive that on the way to work, plus Vdub fans will nag you that it’s the Mk6 and not the newer Mk7. No such problem with this custom Golf R, which comes from German tuner Oettinger.
First things first, let’s establish what they were working with. A stock 2014 Golf R puts down 300 PS and 380 Nm (375 lb-ft) of torque. With DSG, 0 to 100 km/h takes 4.9 seconds and a standard (cheaper) manual uses 5.1 seconds to get there.

Three stages of progressive tune are available, with either 360, 380 and 400 PS. The most hardcore of them is going to be showcased during the upcoming Worthersee GTI fansfest in Austria, where it’s sure to receive plenty of stares.

Of course, it won’t be the only tuned Golf R out there, but with 0 to 100 km/h in just 4 seconds, it has some killer bragging rights.

Keen eyed fans of the car will have notices some small cosmetic changes have been made, like the lids for the headlights. Minute changes have also been made to the front and rear of the car and we definitely like the black wheels. They look tough and don’t overpower the design, which we thing is the way German customers like it.

All-wheel drive isn’t to everybody’s tastes, to Oettinger also offers a selection of power kits for the GTI, going all the way up to 350 PS.
