Remember when the Audi RS 6 came with four doors too? Why, of course you do, because that happened only last decade. The final RS 6 Sedan made by the four-ring brand was part of the C6 generation of the car and saw the light of day from 2008 until 2011.
A true wolf in sheep’s clothing, it packed a monstrous 5.0-liter V10 engine that allowed it to roam free with the supercars made back then. No less than 571 hp (579 ps / 426 kW) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque were available via the right pedal, directed to the quattro all-wheel drive system through a six-speed automatic transmission.
Without anyone messing with its internals, the RS 6 Sedan C6 needed only 4.5 seconds to shoot from naught to 62 mph (0-100 kph), and it could do 155 mph (250 kph) before it artificially ran out of breath. Those are some very serious numbers for a car that weighed around 2 tons (~4,400 lbs), had space for five adult occupants and a generous luggage area, not to mention lots of comfort, tech, and safety gear.
Now, as impressive as the stock C6 was, this particular example makes it look like a slouch. According to the video, it was modified by HPT (Horse Power Technics) in Switzerland and was filmed at a drag racing event on the right side of the Atlantic Ocean not long ago, putting its money where its mouth is.
This particular RS 6 Sedan is said to be more powerful than the original Bugatti Veyron. In fact, it has as much power as the previous-gen Molsheim hypercar and an older Volkswagen Golf GTI combined, because the total output is said to stand at around 1,200 hp. The dizzying acceleration numbers pretty much speak for themselves, as it is capable of hitting in excess of 186 mph (300 kph) before you could name all of its rivals. Don’t believe us? Well, that’s what the video embedded down below is, so enjoy!
