Buick is growing and the recent sales figures are coming to confirm this. General Motors claims October was the best total sales month for 2009, up 19 percent compared to the same month of 2008. LaCrosse, Enclave and Lucerne were the best selling models in Buick's lineup, according to official details provided by the US-based manufacturer.
“We like the momentum we’ve seen in the sales of new Buick and GMC models,” said Susan Docherty, Buick-GMC general manager, and GM Vice President of U.S. Sales. “In October, total sales for these two brands were up 33 percent over October 2008 for the combined total of Buick, Pontiac and GMC.”
Specifically, LaCrosse increased sales by 36 percent from September 2009, recording more than twice as many sales (up 103 percent) compared to October 2008. Enclave sales where up 38 percent year-over-year while Lucerne posted the highest sales of any month this year as well.
“We’re very pleased with consumer acceptance to our newest cars, crossovers and trucks,” added Docherty. “While we have more work to do, we are making progress and will continue our focus on delivering vehicles and a sales and service experience that brings consumers to Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac – and keeps them coming back.”
Overall, GM sold a total of 177,603 vehicles in October, up 4 percent from last October. Total sales increased 13 percent when compared to the previous months. Furthermore, the four core brands accounted for about 95 percent of GM's retail sales, an increase of 10 percentage points compared to the previous year.
