The Nurburgring has become more of a marketing instrument than the historical race track it really is with more and more carmakers pushing the times recorded by their vehicles on this track to the top of the their advertising tree.
Well, all this has led to the circuit gaining a lot of attention, which might bring an interesting effect: an American wants to build a replica of the Nurburgring in... you guessed it... Nevada.
Luckily, Bruton Smith, CEO of Speedway Motorsports, told Sirius XM Sports that he has been negotiating with certain people in Germany to build an exact copy of the ‘Ring in Nevada, with this set to be located 10 miles away from the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Of course, such a project would not only be in perfect harmony with Las Vegas’ spirit, but could also serve as a perfect testing ground for automakers and play territory for automotive enthusitas, so let’s hope he makes it.
