Nurburgring BMW Crashes: From an M4 to Racecars, Everybody Hurts

We're not really sure why, but after watching the BMW crash and spin compilation at the bottom of the page, all we can think of is R.E.M.'s Everybody Hurts.
We're imagining a redone version of the hit's clip, one that would see Nurburgring driver who have crashed their cars acting as the people in the original music video - those of you who still haven't managed to see it (it was launched in 1992, remember) shouldn't fret, as we've added the clip at the bottom of the page.

Returning to our Bavarian affairs, the sporty attitude displayed by Bimmers means it's only normal for these machines to make up for an important part of the Nurburgring Touristenfahrten (tourist days) population.

And while many of you might think of beaters with BMW badges when talking about Nordschleife accidents, this is far from the only category getting involved in such unfortunate episodes.

In fact, as we mentioned in the title, one of the highlights of the footage below shows a BMW M4 driver managing to fall into the classic oversteer trap, with the adventure ending badly for his car.

As we found out during our M4 review, this M Division machine is incredibly capable, but no amount of chassis tuning can make up for a weak link between the pedals and the steering wheel.

Then again, the clip also shows us that even experienced racing drivers can get bitten by the 'Ring. After all, the Green Hell nickname has to be backed up by what happens on the circuit.

As for the various types of crashes dictated by the weather, you'll see that both a dry and a wet track will get their fair share of damaging moments.

Then again, many of the errors made here have hopefully turned into driving lessons, an effect that will only get amplified once you hit that "play" button.
