Things are usually dull round the middle of the news week, so Audi has decided to spice things up a bit with a car that's so cool it could be considered NSFW. Of sure, you've seen the A3 clubsport quattro before. It looks like an S3 sedan with a nasty body kit. But did you know it comes with an air brake?
That's right, the rear wing on the car not only pops out from the boot, but creates downforce at speed and acts provides extra stropping force when it pops out. Now where have we seen a Volkswagen Group car with an air brake?

Compared to the Bugatti Veyron, Audi's system is more compact and simple. There are no aeronautical-style hyraulic strut, but it does boast a row of LEDs acting like a third brake light. And in case you're wondering, the regular S3 doesn't come with this feature, since it would protrude inside the boot.

There are plenty of other things to like about the clubsport, like the fact that it's got a 2.5-liter turbo-five, borrowed from the RS Q3 and tuned to 525 hp. With a massive 212 hp per liter and quattro all-wheel drive, the A3 sedan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 3.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 310 km/h (192.6 mph).

Since Audi needs to consider whether or not to build an RS3 sedan for the first time, this concept could very well be considered a preview / test for that car. If they can install an air brake or R8-style retracting wing, we're totally sold on the idea. Are you?

Update: Audi has just released a fresh video showing how they took an S3 sedan and made it more radical. The interesting things is that the A3 clubsport concept is made using a number of pressed parts for the doors, hood and fenders. These don't belong to the S3 and are different to the ones being developed for the RS3 Sportback. So where are they from?
