Novitec Tweaks the Maserati GranCabrio

The Maserati GranCabrio has received a tuning kit from Novitec Rosso, with the package targeting both the performance and the aesthetics areas of the Italian cabriolet. Visually, the Maserati GranCabrio received several clear-coated carbon fiber components, including a front spoiler lip, carbon fiber grille surround, rocker panel trim, a rear spoiler lip and diffuser.

In addition to that, 21/22 inch alloys (front  and rear) featuring a five double-spoke design and wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires have also been fitted.

Performance wise, the 4.7-liter V8 engine has been upgraded to produce an additional 150 horsepower and 82 Nm (62 lb.ft.), which means it can now provide a total of 590 horsepower at 7300 rpm and 472 Nm (348 lb.ft.) of torque at 5400 rpm.  This increase in power output enables the Maserati GranCabrio to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 301 km/h (187 mph).

The engine conversion costs EUR19,900 and is complemented with the Novitec Tridente sport exhaust system. The fully stainless-steel system features four slanted tailpipes with diameters of 90 millimeters and is available with or without control flap.

“The former allows the driver to engage in sound tuning from the cockpit. Depending on the control flaps' position, the eight-cylinder engine sounds either sporty subdued or aggressive like a race car,” the tuners explain.

Finally, Novitech can also enhance the GranCabrio with a height-adjustable coilover suspension, which also reverts to its original position automatically upon reaching a speed of 80 km/h (50 mph). A series of interior upgrades are also available, which includes application of Alcantara leather “in any desired color.”
