Novitec Rosso Ferrari 488 GTB Gets Carbon Fiber Aero, Extra Boost for 212 MPH

It's not hard to imagine Novitec Rosso's Ferrari 488 GTB is some sort of mythical creature that was born last fall, magically grew over the winter and is now ready to take on the supercar world.

The German tuner's take on the twin-turbo Prancing Horse has been keeping us on our toes ever since November 2015, when it was teased and now the company has given us the complete details on this speeding matter.

It all starts with an engine upgrade that brings an extra 86 PS, bringing the grand total to an F12berlinetta-beating 756 PS. While this kind of output isn't something new in the world of Ferrari 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 tuning, we'll remind you the focus here has to do reliable performance, not top end gains. Nevertheless, the gym visit means the official top speed jumps from 205 mph (330 km/h) to 212 mph (342 km/h).

The extra horses have been welcomed to the stable with the help of an ECU remap, as well as a custom exhaust. The latter can be had in stainless steel or inconel, the exhaust material used by Formula One cars.

It's not like the 488 needed another improvement to cope with the extra power, but Novitec Rosso delivered them anyway - who doesn't like being on the safe side?

The connection to the road is now established with the help of a custom suspension setup, while customers can choose between various wheel-tire combos.

As for the aerodynamic part of the adventure, this Maranello machine gets a full-body carbon fiber armor. Aside from the front lip spoiler, side skirts and rear apron elements, the list of CF goodies also includes the air intake fins and fixed rear wing.

Carbon fiber was also the material of choice when it came to the various details of the cabin, but the tuner hasn't provided any images of the interior.

Fortunately, though, Novitec Rosso has delivered not one, but two videos, which gives us a good taste of what this Fezza can do. From brief drifting moments to the vicious soundtrack, you'll find it all below.
