Novitec Alfa Romeo MiTo Details and Photos

Since the controversial Alfa Romeo MiTo can now be seen on the streets, it is time for tuners – other than the manufacturer's – to get their own shot at the thing. Among the first to do so is German tuner Novitec, who announced it now provides a tuning program for the MiTo. The program comprises of all tweaks you would expect from a tuner, as both the engines (two diesels and the gasoline engine) and the exterior are to be modified.

For the gasoline engine, Novitec used what they call Novitec Powerjet 2 to increase the 1.4l turbocharged engine's output by as much as 31 hp and torque by 30 Nm (new figures stand at 186 hp). Novitec Powerjet 2 is a plug-and-play auxiliary control unit, which the manufacturer says it can be installed in less than five minutes and it provides naught to sixty acceleration in 7.4 seconds.

The two diesel engine fitted on the MiTo also got tuned, using the Novitec Powerrail 5 module, which boosts power to 110 hp for the 1.3l JTD
engine (up from 90 hp) an extra 24 hp for the 1.6 JTD unit.

As for visual enhancements, the MiTo got an implant consisting of front spoiler, rocer panels, roof spoiler and a diffuser for the rear apron. The facelift includes Novitec N8 multi-spoke wheels, shoed in Pirelli high-performance tires in size 215/35 R 18.

To give it a more aggressive stance, the MiTo got lowered by about 40 mm. It this doesn't suit you, Novitec provides stainless-steel coil-over suspension with adjustable ride height and adjustable dampers. It gives the Alfa Romeo a firmer ride and a ride-height lowering between 35 and 65 millimeters.
