Novikov Partners Prevot for the Remainder of 2009

We have all witnessed Evgeny Novikov's spectacular jump during Rally Finland a couple of weekends ago, and we're not to say it didn't actually spice things up a little bit during the rally of 1000 lakes. However, it seems to have scared the hell out of the Russian-Australian driver, as it is rumored he already parted ways with his co-driver following the event.

Novikov never got to finish the Finnish event on board of his Citroen C4 WRC, as he crashed his car twice (in addition to the scary jump that we've mentioned before). As a result of his catastrophic outing, he and co-driver Dale Moscatt will no longer compete together in the remaining stages of 2009.

Although the news is not yet official, nobody at Citroen Junior Team has issued any clarifications on the matter (or dismiss the allegations). In addition, some sources have revealed that Novikov will partner Belgian co-driver Stephane Prevot in his remaining outings in 2009.

Novikov has already confirmed his presence in the Czech Republic Barum Rally later this month, where he is to drive a Skoda Fabia S2000.

The Skoda is definitely happening and it looks like I will be with Citroen (for the rest of the season) but nothing is sure for next year. I am talking to people and waiting to see what offers are coming for 2010,” said Novikov for the WRC official site.

The young Citroen driver is set to drive for at least one more round for the French manufacturer, in Rally Australia.
