Ladies and gentlemen, prepare your leather jackets - we’re here to commemorate Elvis Presley’s motorcycle passion. 55 years ago, on November 1st 1956, the King was moving up the motorcyle scale once again, acquiring a the 1957 Harley-Davidson FLH you see in the adjacent image.
According to Brian Peterson’s The Atomic Powered Singer (we must thank scottymoore.com for the info and image), Elvis had to go to downtown Memphis in order to ensure his Continental MArk II and once he got there, he decided to but the aforementioned bike.
Elvis immediately started enjoying his new two-wheeled machine, as later in the day he took actress Natalie Wood on the seat and started riding. Today, the bike is in Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Co's possesion and is being displayed for marketing purposes.
The star’s Harley-Davidson history started back in 1955, when he acquired a small small 1956 Harley-Davidson ST 165. The King constantly moved up to larger bikes, as his financial status and riding skills improved.
