The Norton Motorcycle Company, founded in 1898 as a maker of "fittings and parts for the two-wheel trade", has survived many periods of financial turmoil over its history and, thankfully, the company still survives today, now making a 961cc oil-cooled pushrod parallel-twin bike with 80 hp.
Now, in an effort to boost their sales and appeal, they have decided to cross the Atlantic and start selling their bikes in the US. According to the official site, their bikes have already passed most of the necessary tests for US sale, and the beginning of the actual sales is currently only held back by paperwork.

Also, sources say that the company has gotten hold of the necessary funding to take their operation to the States - 'a seven figure loan from a group of business people’ is all we know. Once things are up and running, Norton expects to sell 40% of their entire production in the US - we hope they succeed, because such an old and prestigious bike maker deserves to be known-about and their bikes need to be seen and heard.
