The 1968 Chevrolet Impala could be ordered as standard with an all-new 307 (5.0-liter) V8 specifically introduced for this model year, while the available options included a 327/5.4-liter (known as sales code L30) developing 275 horsepower, as well as a more economical version of the same unit with 250 horsepower.
Needless to say, those who wanted to experience a boost of adrenaline could go for the Turbo-Jet 396/6.5-liter (listed as L35) and developing 325 horsepower or the Turbo-Jet 427 (7.0-liter) big-block (L36) with 385 or 425 horsepower.

According to the VIN code, the Impala right here was born with a V8 under the hood, but as you can easily figure out by simply checking out the adjacent photo gallery, this doesn’t necessarily mean much these days.

And it’s all because of the current condition of this Impala SS, which for someone planning a full restoration will be… well, challenging, to say the least. This old-school Chevy is this close to becoming a full rust bucket, and the gigantic holes in the floors and in the trunk are definitely scaring people away.

Despite the rather low price, that is, as eBay seller se_1978 expects to get only $1,500 for the car, so whoever wants to buy this Impala SS wouldn’t have to pay more than the price of a new iPhone 13.

But at the end of the day, bringing this Chevy back on the road will be a huge effort, not only because of its current condition but also due to all the missing parts. There’s no engine or transmission, so most likely, this Impala served as a donor car.

It remains to be seen if someone ends up buying this Impala, but it’s pretty clear that right now, not a lot of people are willing to give it a second chance.

The seller has also enabled the Make Offer button should someone be interested in another deal.
