No, This Stoppie Is Definitely Not Landing Well

Stoppie fails horribly 1 photo

Stunt riding definitely has a magic allure, and there are quite a few riders who have never felt the impulse of trying to push their limits a bit and get that wheel off the ground. Or, for what's worth, drift that rear tire around the bend just a little.
The list can go on forever, but this is not the point of this piece. Like in so many other similar cases, the stunt riding attempts lack the most elementary notions of safety... and self-preservation.

Stunt tricks are dangerous enough for the rider, and adding a passenger to the equation only makes them even more risky. Plus, you know the drill: the rider bears the responsibility for the safety of the passenger.

Now, when it comes to youngsters and children, they are easily allured by the (sometimes evil) magic of the motorcycles. They would quickly forget all safety concerns when offered a ride, and unknowingly put themselves in grave danger.

The video below shows exactly this scenario, with a KTM Duke rider and a young passenger, none of them wearing a helmet, and attempting a stoppie. The rider wants to push his limits a bit, and gets past the point of no return. Both him and his passenger faceplant really hard in the middle of the road, with the bike crashing on top of them.

Even though they seem like they are going to be okay, we would not vouch that all teeth are where they are supposed to be. And facial fractures have not been exactly rare consequences of such crashes, either...

Go stunting? Just get a helmet.
