No More Mick Doohan in the Race of Champions, as Event Is Canceled

2013 Race of Champions canceled because of political unrest 1 photo
Political unrest in Thailand caused the 2013 Race of Champions to be canceled, denying MotoGP Legend Mick Doohan the chance to battle other stars in motorsport, such as the Michael Schumacher, Tom Kristensen, Sebastien Ogier, Susie Wolff, Mattias Ekstrom, Felix Baumgartner and many more.
The Race of Champions should have taken place December 14-15 in Bangkok, Thailand. However, with strong anti-government uprising and a dominant climate of instability, it looks like the Sports Authority of Thailand and the race organizers' decision is the only way to go.

Despite the declarations that a later date could be scheduled, it; is hard to believe that things in Thailand will return to normal before the year ends.

Customers who already got tickets for the 2013 Race of Champions are advised to "contact Thai Ticket Major or their ticketing agent for further information on refunds," raceofchampions.com adds.

We feel sorry for both the fans and for Mick Doohan, but it looks like this was not his lucky year.
