Winter was the perfect time for Ducati to unveil their new MotoGP bikes in the snow-filled mountains of Madonna di Campiglio, but this year it's silence veiling the Italian resort, instead of red banners and mirth.
The reason is that the Philip Morris, the sponsor of the event is apparently having a rougher time on the financial side, and decided to cut the funds for fun.
The result is no presentations, no press conferences, now downhill skiing and no ice racing. So if Ducati red and snow white were your thing in the cold month before the first pre-season test of the year, we totally understand you. It was indeed funny to see a MotoGP bike show with ice spikes...
