Nitrous Corvette C6 Z06 Drag Races Viper TA, They Fly on Public Road

The first time a C7 Corvette Z06 raced a Viper TA, we ended up with a video that will definitely make it to the podium at the end of the year. We are back on the Z06 vs TA topic, but this time we have an entirely different take for you.

Ladies and gentlemen racers, in the Black corner, we have a C6 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, while the Orange corners hosts a 2014 SRT Viper TA. Before you start making bets, we have to mention neither of the two are in stock condition.

And while we won’t ruin the fun by telling you which car is quicker, we’ll go through the mods below.

The ‘Vette is the one that has gone further down the technical upgrade road. The 7-liter LS7 V8 under the hood was gifted with mods touching the intake and headers, while a 100 shot of nitrous makes sure things get really serious. An ECU remap obviously keeps everything in check.

As for the Viper, this comes to the fight wearing bolt-on mods, once again with the on-the-house ECU tune.

The two engage in a race that sees them using a 60 mph (that’s 97 km/h for all you reading this across the pond) rolling start. We are given two camera angles, so there’s simply no way of missing any detail of this dogfight. Willing to ensure the result is relevant, the pair also engages in a second race, with the only unorthodox detail being that the whole adventure takes place on a public road.
