Nissan’s Chinese venture brand Venucia is getting ready to launch its second car for the Chinese market this September. It’s called the R50, and it’s a budget hatchback engineered specifically for this market using an old architecture.
The R50 is basically the same car as the Japanese Tiida hatchback, but it has received new sheetmetal.

The Venucia brand was originally supposed to offer only Nissan’s EVs, but it seems it’s going into offering regular models, after the D50, which we all know as the Tiida Sedan, has been available since the April 2012.

The Chinese brand’s representatives say this new design represents the company’s concept of “soar”. This coming from a Chinese company named after the Roman goddess Venus. It’s all a bit overdone!

We don’t really understand all that, but we do know that the only option in terms of engine is Nissan’s HR16DE 1.6-liter normally aspirated engine.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
