Nissan X-Trail / Rogue Gets a Few Digital Tweaks, Can We Call It a Virtual Tuning Job?

With the new generation Nissan X-Trail finally arriving in Europe last week, more than two years after the Rogue debuted in the United States, it has become the subject of a rendering.

Mind you, while some might expect a crazy digital take on the mid-size crossover, the proposal is quite discreet and can be easily achievable without spending a small fortune on the modifications.

Kelsonik, as the person behind this CGI is known on Instagram, took Europe’s Nissan X-Trail, and gave it a sportier stance. This is defined by the deleted chrome trim, replaced by blacked-out accents, bigger wheels filling the arches and a lowered suspension that has brought the body a bit closer to the road.

Elsewhere, the model stays true to the original design, and this includes the double-headlamp styling, big grille incorporated into the rather aggressively-shaped bumper, black plastic cladding on the lower parts of the body for a more utilitarian approach, and back end, with the ‘X-Trail’ name displayed in the middle of the tailgate, right below the corporate logo.

Meanwhile, the Rogue’s European twin will start arriving at dealers across the continent this fall. In the United Kingdom, it will launch this month, and the first customers will receive theirs in October. The engine family comprises mild-hybrid and hybrid assemblies, with outputs ranging between 161 hp (163 ps / 120 kW) in the base model, and 210 hp (213 ps / 157 kW) in the range-topping variant, when had with all-wheel drive. In the latter configuration, you are looking at 7 seconds from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 kph) and a 112 mph (180 kph) top speed.

Pricing for mainland Europe will be announced in due course, but in the UK, the 2023 X-Trail can be had from £32,030 (equal to $37,122), and it goes up to at least £48,155 ($55,811) for the flagship model.
