Nissan has decided the 2013 Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC Birmingham is the perfect venue to showcase two of its latest hard workers. Ahead of the show's debut in a few weeks (April 9-11), the company has revealed the 100% electric eNV200 and NV200 London Taxi will be making their UK debut there.
The e-NV200 shares its motor and battery pack with the Leaf, so it can be charged to 80% of its capacity in 30 minutes, using a quick charger, and offers performance and range numbers comparable to those of the Leaf. Also, with 80 kW and 280 Nm of torque, it will offer diesel-level performance with almost seamless delivery.

Meanwhile the NV200 London Taxi is based on the passenger van version of the model but has been heavily modified in order to comply with the host of TfL Taxi Conditions of Fitness. It features an improved turning steering circle that allows it to make a full turn in just 25ft (7.6m).

Nissan will show a number of other vehicles besides these two, as their standing in Hall 3a will include a Cabstar, NV200, NV200 Fridge, NV400 panel van and a Red Bull Formula 1 car.

“We’re looking forward to showing the eNV200 to the public and offering a glimpse into the future of vans and their potential low running costs. Fleets that have recently tested the eNV200 have given us excellent feedback and we’re now excited to see the response from the public," said Jon Pollock, Nissan GB corporate sales director.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
