Nissan to Build Leaf Electric Vehicles in China in 2015

Reports from Chinese media state that Nisan is seeking to produce the Leaf electric car locally two years from now.
As you can see from the photo above, there is something a little different about the Leaf sold in China, and that's because the Dongfeng-Nissan joint venture has marketed it under a different name, the Venucia E30.

The E30 was shown as a concept earlier this year at the Beijing Auto Show and entered a pilot program which has been successful. The Venucia brand was established in China back in 2010 and has become increasingly popular through models like the Tiida and Livina.

The good news is that the EVs made in China will have the same performance and range as the models sold overseas, benefiting from a host of improvements made by Nissan for the 2013 model.
