Nissan to Bring Fuga and Fuga Hybrid to Tokyo

With just two weeks left before the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show kicks off, carmakers are revealing what will those attending the event view at their booths. Japanese carmaker Nissan has also announced its Tokyo lineup, and aside from the Land Glider and the ROOX Super Space vehicles, it will also display the new generation Fuga model.

The Fuga comes in a choice of two engine configurations, namely the VQ37VHR 3.7-liter V6 or the VQ25HR 2.5-liter V6 engine. The model will also feature Double Piston Shock Absorbers, the Intelligent Pedal and the Cornering Stability Assist. The technology package also includes the LDP (Lane Departure Prevention system) and the Intelligent Cruise Control.

While safety is concerned, the Fuga is equipped with a driving safety support system, that uses the ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) in its navigation system. Moreover, the eco-driving is the greener side of Fuga, as it is supported by an ECO-pedal.

On the inside, the luxury sedan features a climate control system called Forest AC, a newly developed plasma-cluster ion unit, which purifies the cabin air and a Bose R Surround Sound System with 16 speakers and 14-channel digital amplifier.

With the debut of the production version of the new generation Fuga at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show, Nissan will also showcase a Fuga hybrid vehicle. Scheduled for launch in the Japanese market from the autumn of 2010, the Nissan Fuga hybrid is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine, high-power Li-ion batteries and a highly efficient one-motor-two-clutch parallel hybrid system solely developed by Nissan.
